Alpari have been online since 1998 and are fully authorized and regulated by the financial services authority. They offer trading by the Internet using online dealing software or by telephone.

To open an account with this broker you will need to use bank wire to transfer your payment. The minimum amount required opening an account with them starts from $200 with a minimum lot size of 0.01. They provide a standard leverage of 1:100 and a maximum leverage of 1:200. Their spreads are fairly tight with 2 pips on EUR/USD and an average of 3 pips on the other majors.

They also introduced “Floating Leverage” where an open position of 3 million USD will carry a leverage of 1:500. Thus if you open an account of lets say 5million with them, your first 3million will carry a 1:500 leverage and the rest of it which is 2million will have a 1:200 leverage. The initial margin varies with the account balance you have. Thus if your balance is below $100,000 your initial margin will be 1%, $250,000 is 2% and above that 4%.

Being a metatrade4 broker they have all the great features like technical analysis and daily incoming news to keep you updated of the latest major economical changes. Their platform is very user friendly and no major problem will be encountered in that respect.

They also provide a forum to their customers where other traders exchange trading tips, forecasts and techniques.

Alpari is my personal broker of choice and I haven’t had any problems with them so far. They have a good customer service, easy opening and transfer of funds, good platform that sometimes freeze for couple of minutes but with no major drawback and spreads are fairly reasonable. They do tend to raise the spread during news time for a short timeframe. It’s important to note that scalpers and news traders should avoid them.
